Too much waste in plan
On Wednesday, The House of Representatives approved an $819 billion economic stimulus package. The final vote was 244-188, mostly along party lines. All Republicans who were present voted against the bill. They were joined in their opposition by 11 Democrats.
I had originally begun to write a column on this last night, but something told me to wait. In today's Wichita Eagle, there was a column by Kansas Rep. Todd Tiahrt (Goddard) that explained things so much better than I ever could. So, I've posted it here (see below).
