Retirement
My mom has decided to retire this May after 35 years in education. She is retiring a little early so that she can concentrate on her health and also be able to spend more time with her granddaughters. On April 15, the school had a retirement party for her at Carlos O'Kelly's Mexican Restaurant in Wichita. I really enjoyed seeing a lot of my former teachers, some of whom have been retired for some time, but worked with my mom a long time ago, so they came back to help her celebrate. I wish I would've taken some pictures of them. And, just in case you're having trouble reading the cupcakes, they say, "Linda, our best wishes go with you."
Joel's B-Day Dinner
For Joel's 32nd birthday on April 8th, we decided to try a restaurant we hadn't been to yet. We ate at Texas Roadhouse in West Wichita. Everything is made in the restaurant, from the rolls, to the salads and dressings and everything else. They even have a meat market where you can buy your own cuts of meat and take them home. All of the food was really good and the service was excellent. The servers even did a line dance partway through our meal. Food and entertainment - you can't beat that! Here's the birthday boy, working on his steak and ribs...
