Trick or Treat

On Halloween night, Joel took the girls trick-or-treating while I stayed home and passed out candy. We practiced with Grace for a while on saying "Trick or Treat" and "Thank You", but when she got to people's front doors, she was mute. In fact, the only time she talked to people was when they mistakenly complimented her on her "purple" hair. She was quick to reply, "It's not purple, it's BLUE hair!!!" It was very difficult not to laugh. When they returned home, Gracec was adament about helping pass out candy to the rest of the trick-or-treaters ("LET ME DO IT!!!"). She was in hog heaven!

Natalie managed to keep her "Thing 2" sign on the entire evening, progress made from the church Halloween party (see previous post). She was not really interested in eating the candy. All she did was go through everything, pick out all of the suckers, and carry them around all night in her fists. She was very proud (and protective) of those suckers...
Grace has been asking every day since if we can do Halloween again. She wants to go trick-or-treating again. She doesn't quite unnderstand the "once a year" concept. It shall be interesting to see how she responds to Christmas this year.
Below are some pics from Friday evening. Joel had some fun, too, with a pair of plastic glasses Grace got in her candy bucket (the fake eyeballs are actually chocolate candies)...
